Chris Jacobs | President & CEO
Chris Jacobs founded The Jacobs Group in 2004 by combining the skills of industry leaders in project management, accounting, property management, and IT. Prior to JG, Chris worked at Yardi Systems for 7 years as the managing coordinator for the affordable housing implementation department. Prior to Yardi, Chris was a Condo Property Manager, using the Yardi system for 7 years.
Eric Thoreson | Director of Client Services
Eric Thoreson brings a powerful combination of Real Estate, Software and Information Technology experience to The Jacobs Group. He has managed and/or been involved in over 200 software implementations. Furthermore, Eric is a Project Management Professional (PMP). Before doing Yardi consulting, Mr. Thoreson held the title of Yardi Project Manager and Director of Information Technology for Bridge Housing Corporation in San Francisco, one of the largest property management firms on the West Coast. He was hired in 2005 to lead the selection, planning and rollout of a new property management software for Bridge. The software selected was the Yardi with the affordable housing module. Eric created the project plan and managed the implementation of Yardi for 175 users across 50 locations with over 5000 units.Erics career began as General Manager and Controller for San Francisco Bay Properties, a real estate investment and property management company firm with both residential and commercial properties located throughout the Western United States. He then founded ETA Accounting Software Specialists which sold and implemented Microsoft Great Plains Accounting Software. ETA was a member of Great Plains Presidents Club for twelve straight years. Eric was involved in over 200 implementations as the firm grew from a sole practitioner (Eric) to 20 employees before the company was sold in 2005.
Hema Patel | Project Manager
Hema Patel is a respected and well known Senior Yardi Consultant. She joined The Jacobs Group with a notion that her extensive Property Management, Affordable Markets, Software, and Information Technology knowledge will be a tremendous asset to the organization. She was previously with EverGreen Solutions, Inc. as a Senior Technology Consultant, bringing with her over 11 years of technical experience and nine years of experience with the Yardi system. Hema was one of their affordable module experts for Yardi Voyager system. She had overseen many Yardi Voyager implementations and upgrades. Hema had a various different clients with many different backgrounds and markets. She supported affordable, conventional, combo, commercial, and military based housing programs. She also provided property management end user training, executive training, accounting training, and system administration trainings. Hema was also responsible for technical writing, where she created end user procedures manuals.In previous positions, Ms. Patel has assisted with Yardi software conversions and implementations for over 125 sites nationwide. She was in charge of rolling out the Voyager upgrade from 4.5 to 5.0 for over 125 properties and for more than 250 end users. She previously worked for a national Tax Credit property management firm where she worked on the development and administration of Yardi end user training courses and procedures manual development. Ms. Patel has extensive experience with the Yardi system, having spent the previous nine years implementing, configuring, supporting, and training end users in the system. Ms. Patel is located in Orlando, Florida.
